Cardif Lux Vie staff take on the Move4Life challenge
A total of EURÂ 26,550 donated to 8 charities
On Friday, 8 December 2017, staff from Cardif Lux Vie presented eight cheques totalling EUR 26,550 to the organisations Toutes à l’école Luxembourg, Luxembourg Institute of Health, Andage, SPH Fleurus, Autisme Espoir Vers l’Ecole, Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner, Centre Eclore and Muco.
The cheques were presented as part of the Move4Life collective challenge launched at the company in January 2017 and which encourages staff to either walk or run as many kilometres as possible in teams over the course of a year.
The company’s 270 employees covered a total distance of over 263,000 kilometres – that’s more than six times around the Earth! The distances were measured using a smart wristband given to each employee and each team’s results were displayed on a secure platform that was specially developed in association with Sport Heroes, a start-up specialising in sport and wellbeing.
In support of employees’ efforts, Cardif Lux Vie’s management made the commitment to donate an amount proportional to the distance each of the teams had travelled since the beginning of the year to a charity of the team members’ choosing.
The Move4Life challenge incorporates values that are important to the company: improving the wellbeing of its staff from a health perspective, promoting team building, putting the company’s digitalisation into practice and engaging in socially responsible initiatives.
